Charles R. Trimble
This individual is a former member of the National Space-Based PNT Advisory Board. The following information has not been updated since his/her service ended.
Trimble is the chair of the U.S. GPS Industry Council. He is cofounder and former president of Trimble Navigation Ltd, a leading developer of commercial equipment using the Global Positioning System.
Prior to association with the navigation company, Trimble worked as manager of integrated circuit research and development at the Hewlett Packard Company.
The recipient of numerous awards and honors, Trimble is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the Council on Foreign Relations. He served on the NASA Advisory Council, the National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative and the Silicon Valley Defence/Space Consortium.
He earned his bachelor's in engineering and applied science and his master's in electrical engineering at Caltech. He was elected to its board of trustees in 2002.
